Seit November 2020 befindet sich der Flughafen in einem Prozess der Veränderung.
Heute, im Jahr 2026 erweitert sich der Flughafen durch Ansiedlungen verschiedener Unternehmen im angrenzenden Industriebgebiet der Wurster Nordseeküste.
Der zivile Flugbetrieb verläuft wie gewohnt und ist während der Öffnungszeiten nicht eingeschränkt.

Today, in 2026, the airport is expanding with the arrival of various companies in the adjacent industrial area on the Wurster North Sea coast.
Civil aviation operations are running as usual and are not restricted during opening hours.
